In this section you can read some of the
letters we have received for the work that has been
done, both spiritually and physically. Many of these
were received for our 25th anniversary in 2001.

I commend to all Native American
churches the ministry of the Brotherhood of Native
American Outreach. Last year our church was greatly
blessed by this group and their work is still being
talked about in the Native American community here. Our
church is located on the Swinomish Reservation in
western Skagit County in the State of Washington. Our
average attendance is about 40. We desired to build a
new building as we had no kitchen or fellowship hall,
our men’s room looked like a broom closet. We had no
handicap accessibility and the outside of our church had
the original cedar shakes which were simply not
attractive.
Upon the arrival of the investigative
team, we were amazed at how they looked at a blue print,
pulled out their tape measures, and immediately
proceeded to review the plans we had for our present
structure and the feasibility of remodeling our church.
Before the weekend was over, we were accepted as their
project for 2003. For a church that just one week
earlier had our hopes dashed when we learned the cost of
building new, we suddenly felt the Lord’s leading in
remodeling our present church.
In the months that ensured, there were
many e-mails and phone calls with Doug Boyer and other
members of the Brotherhood who headed up special tasks
(electrical, plumbing, siding, and carpentry.) By the
time July rolled around, material was on site, food in
the pantry (and do they ever eat), transportation
arranged (like the week before), and a lot of excitement
by our congregation…several of whom took vacation time
to be here the whole week during the construction.
On Monday the 21st of July they
arrived. Within minutes out came the tape measures,
building materials lists were checked, food sent to the
kitchen, teens ready to minister each evening, and very
quickly a final once-through was made. Tuesday morning
they arrived right at 7:00 am. Within minutes they were
tearing out walls, checking the wiring, removing the
plumbing and ripping up carpet. Slow but surely our
building was transformed in one week. Words cannot
express our appreciation to this great team for the work
they did. But this was not all.
The teens they brought were
outstanding. Every day they worked along side the adults
and every evening they conducted a VBS for the boys and
girls and a basketball camp for the teens. They were
courteous and a tremendous testimony to everyone in the
community.
Thanks Brotherhood for everything you
did for us. And when this sanctuary is filled a couple
times over on Sunday, we are looking forward to asking
you to return to put up a new building.

First Assembly of God
Cheyenne, WY - September 13, 2001
Dear Mr. Langel,
I am writing today with great
appreciation for what the Brotherhood group did for us
here at First Assembly. We will be eternally grateful.
We had purchased a 98,000 square ft.
building that had been vacant for over 14 years.
Although our sanctuary had been completed, we were still
overwhelmed with what needed to be done. Our gymnasium
had numerous windows knocked out; our kitchen and dining
area was still in shambles. There were several floors
that needed carpeted and or tiled as well as cleaned up.
I remember thinking on my way to the
Denver Airport to pick up the team of workers how
overwhelming this project seemed, and wondering if we
would ever be able to complete this task that seemed
much larger than we had anticipated. Although we knew
that God had set this in order, those of us who had
worked so hard in the previous months were worn to a
frazzle.
As the team began to gather their
luggage and were so organized under the direction of
Doug Boyer, it was like a ray of new hope rose up in our
hearts, for we knew then that God had sent us
reinforcements to finish the job He had called us to do.
Almost as soon as the team became
settled in their motel rooms, the work began. Floors
were cleaned, walls were painted, broken windows were
replaced, carpet installed, plumbing done, cupboards put
in place, floors tiled, ceiling tiles replaced, and
anything else that needed done was quickly completed.
What a relief for those of us who had
labored the previous months and almost seemed to be
losing ground. God had heard our cry for help and sent
Brotherhood to Cheyenne First Assembly.
Thank you, Brotherhood, for your labor
of love to Cheyenne First Assembly. Every soul that is
saved at our altars, you will have a part.
In Our Savior’s Love,
Pastor Dan McGraw

N.A.O.M.I (Native American Outreach
Ministries)
Joseph City, AZ - September 14, 2001
Dear Brother Doug and Brotherhood
Friends,
How can I possible express our deep
appreciation for all you have done for NAOMI? There
simply is no way I can think of. There are no words I
can think of that would even begin to scratch the
surface of all I feel in my heart towards you work and
ministry.
You are instruments of the Lord. He
has used you to minister to NAOMI … to myself, the
children, and our entire community. People are still
talking about the impact you made. The miracle of that
building going up in less than a week. You have forever
changed our lives.
May the work you do … forever change
and bless you own lives as well as the lives of
countless others for another 25 years! A joyous 25th
Anniversary!
Sincerely in Christ,
Linda Russell & Kids

Doug,
We just want to say that we are sorry
we are not able to come and celebrate with you and the
Brotherhood’s 25th Anniversary. It was our hope that we
could express our appreciation in person for the
ministry and work of Brotherhood among our Native
American brothers, particularly on the Navajo
Reservation. You have blessed us and touched many
people. Lives were changed that were headed for certain
destruction, for this we want to thank Brotherhood. You
didn’t ask for any monetary donation, instead you gave
to the communities and have given hope to the people.
Many times you left and were not recognized for your
dedication to God’s work, but I’m sure you will hear
someone say someday, “Because of Brotherhood, I was
saved and was able to hear my Lord say, ‘Enter into the
joy of the Lord!’”
Again, I want to thank Brotherhood and
Newport Assembly of God church for your ministry among
the Native Americans. We’d like to be there, but due to
the terrorist attacks on New York City, I hope you
understand our decision to stay home.
God bless you and your family.
In His Name!

mean), and you have given us your love and
understanding.

and for Native Americans everywhere, we thank God that
you came our way.

Poplar Assembly of God
Poplar, Montana - September 27, 2001
Hi Brother Doug Boyer,
Happy 25th and God bless you even more
as a group. You were a blessing to the Poplar Assembly
of God last July 2000. Without your group being here to
help with the construction of the church, it would not
be here today. I remember how hard you worked all week
in the extreme heat of the Montana summer. The ladies
preparing food all week was simply amazing. Young and
old gave all they had that week for the Kingdom of God.
Because of the new facility we have
seen many new converts come to the Lord Jesus
Christ. This facility is going to affect the next two
generations of Native Americans if Jesus should
tarry. Thanks for your work and support of the church
here on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation. We will never
forget the work and sacrifice you made to come to
Poplar, Montana.
God bless you and keep
you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
